The Trumpet

The YTR-4335G has been designed by the same team that produces the top-of-the-line professional models and shares many of the same qualities, like a rich full tone with accurate intonation, and the ability to either blend with the ensemble or project a solo. It features Monel pistons for quick and reliable valve action, a gold-brass bell for warm rich tone. The entire inner bore taper-from mouthpiece receiver to the bell-has been scientifically designed for beautiful tone colour, comfortable response, and as much sound as you want.

The trumpet will be personally signed by: James Morrison

James Morrison is, by anybody’s standard, a virtuoso in the true sense of the word. He is a brilliant technician on trumpet, trombone, euphonium, piano and many other instruments. A musician of startling originality, James was first noticed overseas as a precocious teenager, when he represented Australia at Jazz Festivals in Monterey and Los Angeles.

Though he is a major jazz figure in Australia (winning the Mo Award as Australian Performer of the Year and the Ricky May Performer of the Year Award) - it is his impact on the intensely competitive international stage that is most impressive. In 1992, 1993 and 1994 James headlined a critically acclaimed world tour with the Ray Brown Trio that covered Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, Malaysia, France, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Finland and Germany. He has appeared internationally with his own group and as soloist alongside Wynton Marsalis, Frank Sinatra, Cab Calloway, Woody Shaw, Whitney Houston, Dizzy Gillespie and The Phillip Morris Superband. In 1997, James was recognised for his service to the arts in Australia and was made a member of the Order of Australia. Known predominantly as a trumpet player, James is recognised as one of the most accomplished multi-instrumentalists in the world today. The Yamaha instruments James chooses to play include a signature model trumpet and trombone (designed with James’ expert help at Yamaha’s Tooyoka Factory in Hamamatsu, Japan) as well as Yamaha’s custom 82Z saxophone, SLB100 Silent Double Bass, and others too numerous to mention.
