Greg Aitken

Greg graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium in 1987 with a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance. Whilst a student at the Conservatorium he developed a great love for Brass Chamber music in its many forms. Subsequently he was a founding member of the acclaimed quintet ‘Brass Razoo’ and more recently the quartet ‘Buzz’.
He has performed with the Queensland and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras as well as working with the various touring Musical productions staged at QPAC including: Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, Boy From Oz and many others.
Greg is well known throughout Australia for his work in the brass band genre having performed several times here and abroad with both Australian and International bands.
He is heavily involved in community music making in Brisbane as the conductor of Brisbane Brass.
He is currently the Euphonium lecturer for Griffith University, Queensland Conservatorium where he also conducts the newly formed Conservatorium Brass Band.
He has held low brass teaching positions at QUT and USQ with many of his former students occupying positions in various Defence Force bands throughout Australia.
